We’re excited to announce that Gateway Procurement will be at The Waterline Summit 2021 – The North of England’s biggest and most important decarbonization summit that connects the Humber to the goals outlined by COP26 – the 26th UN Climate Change Conference.
On Wednesday 20th October at 2pm, our co-founder Daniel Usifoh will be joining other industry professionals from Aura and East Riding Council to explore how sustainability will impact sustainable chain management, procurement and innovation in the engaging discussion: Moving to Green – Why? How? Who? When?
Delivered in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Gateway Procurement, this discussion will explain in clear terms why businesses need to demonstrate green and sustainable credentials. It will explore what this means in practice for business and organisations, and the consequences and expectations that will be placed not only on our procurement processes, activities and customers – but also on individuals.
Daniel will be giving an overview of greening the supply chain – exploring why it’s necessary, and how your business can effectively implement sustainable procurement. There will be real life case studies from local businesses in different sectors, and the opportunity for a wider discussion in interactive breakout sessions.
The need for businesses to advance their sustainability and demonstrate green credentials to customers, buyers and employees has never been more important. Next month, over 190 world leaders are arriving in Glasgow, Scotland to discuss the current climate crisis as part of the 26th UN Climate Change Conferences (COP26).
This event is particularly significant, as it’s considered to be the world’s best and last chance to intervene and tackle the difficult challenges of climate change. We are therefore delighted to be involved in a local event that champions the same values of COP26, and look forward to sharing our expertise with like-minded people.
COP26 has outlined four goals designed to address specific economic, physical and social issues of climate change. We believe it’s important for businesses to demonstrate that they operate in a way that is beneficial to achieving these. By continuing to collaborate with clients to develop and deliver sustainable procurement solutions, we are proud to be making a difference and doing our part as an environmentally-aware and responsible business.
At Gateway Procurement, we help businesses and organisations across the UK to obtain best value through procurement.
